A broken tired
and thoroughly depressed young man was walking wearily home along the
beach. His footsteps followed him in the soft sand and the sea did not
touch them.
God looked down upon him and saw he was in need of a few words of
encouragement. God said to the young man "why do you look so weary of
life".The young man stopped, looked up and
answered "God why do you speak to me now? I have had the hardest time of
anyone I know, I've endured tragedy, loss and great sadness.
Every time I've looked around for you to support me, you
were never there, look only my footsteps can be seen in the sand as I walk
along my journey of life, I've been alone, felt lonely and bereft and now
I'm weary of life. Where were you when I needed you?" God paused for a
moment and then softly answered.
"My child, you have never been alone, I have always been
there for you. I have always supported you and even though you did not
know it I was there all the time. The footsteps in the sand that you see
are mine as I carry you. You are here because I took care of you my
precious child. In your time of need I carried you and I will stay with
you always."
